Home fires are the most common disasters that affect families in Shasta County. In our community a family loses their home and belongings to fire every day, often barely escaping with their lives and the clothes on their backs.
Shasta County volunteers respond to a disaster 365 days a year, day and night, offering short-term food, clothing, shelter and the emotional support that families need in order to begin recovering from their loss.
Did you know... A gift of $1000 or more provides emergency food, clothing and shelter for a family that has lost everything.
A gift of $500 buys a day's worth of emergency food and shelter for a family of six.
A gift of $250 buys new bed linens, pillows and towels for a family.
A gift of $100 buys a family of four, groceries for one week.
A gift of $75 can replace critically needed prescription medication lost in a disaster.
A gift of $25 or more provides emergency personal hygiene items and one fresh change of clothes at the scene of the fire.
Please support Red Cross assistance to victims of fire by donating to the local Fire Hurts Red Cross Helps campaign as an individual, or as a group. Every dollar raised for the Fire Hurts Red Cross Helps campaign stays in Shasta County, and is used ONLY for direct assistance to fire victims.
